Astrid S releases her brand new EP titled ‘Down Low’ to mark the end of her ‘Stripped Down’ tour, which has seen the Norwegian pop star play a string of sold-out shows across intimate venues in Europe and the UK. ‘Down Low’ features four stripped-back, raw songs that showcase Astrid’s vocal prowess and honest lyricism at their finest.

Of the EP, Astrid says:

‘Down Low is a more acoustic, stripped down EP. I had some old demos that I’ve wanted to release, so I decided to try and finish them and rewrite them, but still keep the original sound and feeling of it. After starting the process early this summer I ended up writing more acoustic songs that we added to the track list and we even got to play them on tour. Me and Eivind Helgerød, the producer and my drummer, spent a lot of time together making this EP and I’m very proud of the outcome. It feels very genuine and close to where I am today as a songwriter and artist.’

Last night at her sold-out show at London’s Hoxton Hall, Astrid took to the stage to announce her ‘Down Low’ EP, leaving fans excited and surprised. Following the stripped-back feel of Astrid’s ‘Stripped Down’ tour, ‘Down Low’ EP features intimate tracks filled with melodic piano and acoustic guitar, with a heavy focus on Astrid’s signature, outstanding vocals. All four tracks show the popstar’s vulnerable side – focusing on her take on relationships and how they affect our own emotions and ideas of ourselves, for better or for worse.

‘Down Low’ is Astrid’s second EP release of 2019, following ‘Trust Issues’, released last month
