Influential British DJ and producer Skream has unveiled new single ‘Song For Olivia’, out 30th Augustvia Ministry of Sound/Of Unsound Mind.

Harnessing a retro 80s synth feel, ‘Song For Olivia’ takes the melodic techno sound that the Croydon-born artist has come to be associated with into new territories. Dedicating the track to his newborn daughter, the single combines elements of carefree disco and emotive trance to masterful effect.

Helping shape the direction of dance music over the course of his esteemed 15-year career, Skream has become one of the scene’s most respected names. At the forefront of electronic music since the age of 16, he has headlined festivals worldwide, produced #1 records and released underground classics.

One of the hardest working DJs on the circuit, he plays three Ibiza dates – Elrow at Amnesia, ANTS atUshuaia and Paradise at DC-10 – as well as The BPM Festival in Portugal, Watergate in Berlin and two dates at the Warehouse Project before the end of September.

Founder of his own ‘Of Unsound Mind’ label, a home for varied colourful and melodic productions,Skream is also poised to embark on his ‘Open To Close’ tour.  Kicking off in Warsaw on 27th September, the 23 date-tour is the biggest ‘Open To Close’ event yet.

The dance-floor innovator plays a slew of iconic UK venues, such as Canal Mills in Leeds, Cosmic Ballroom in Newcastle and Village Underground in London, as well as five US dates including LA, Atlanta and Denver. Closing off proceedings on New Years Day, Skream plays two parties in his second home of Glasgow – one at the Sub Club and the other at BaAD.

An artist renowned for continually reinventing his sound, ‘Song For Olivia’ signifies the start of yet another chapter in the story of Skream.
