MIKA, born Michael Holbrook Penniman Jr. on August 18, 1983, in Beirut, Lebanon, is a multi-platinum global pop superstar known for his vibrant, theatrical style and powerful vocals.
Raised in Paris and London, he rose to fame in 2007 with his debut album Life in Cartoon Motion, featuring the chart-topping hit “Grace Kelly,” which spent five weeks at No. 1 in the UK and helped sell over 8 million copies worldwide. The album earned him a Brit Award for Best British Breakthrough Act and a Grammy nomination.Over his career, MIKA has released several successful albums, including The Boy Who Knew Too Much (2009), No Place in Heaven (2015), My Name Is Michael Holbrook (2019), and the French-language Que ta tête fleurisse toujours (2023).
In January 2026, he returned with his first English-language album in six years, Hyperlove, which has become his highest-charting UK album since 2009. Celebrated for blending joyful pop with personal storytelling, MIKA has sold millions of records, hosted Eurovision in 2022, judged on shows like The Voice in Spain and The Piano in the UK, and advocated openly about his identity and experiences.Currently, MIKA is embarking on his biggest headline tour to date, the Spinning Out Tour, which kicked off in Europe in early February 2026.
The tour launched with shows in Amiens and Rouen, France, before heading to the UK for his first-ever arena performances in the country. On February 11, 2026, he performed at Manchester’s AO Arena, delivering a high-energy, vibrant celebration of pop that fans described as unforgettable. He expressed special excitement for Manchester, noting how the city “stole my heart” during a previous show at the Apollo and promising a full arena production. The tour continues with dates including London on February 12, followed by stops in France and beyond, with a North American leg planned later in 2026 starting in Boston.
