Nina Nesbitt played to a packed Manchester Academy 2 last night. The Swedish-Scottish singer-songwriter from Livingston has had a couple of top 40 singles.  Her latest collaboration with Irish DJ John Gibbons,  ‘A Spaceman Came Travelling’, was  a cover of Chris De Burgh’s 1975 hit, and peaked at No. 22 in the iTunes charts.  With the beautiful vocals from Nesbitt, it was a song worthy of a much higher position in my opinion and sadly not performed on this tour.

Nina’s latest album ‘The Sun Will Come Up, The Seasons Will Change’ is the focus of this tour, and has been getting great reviews. A sting of emotional and atmospheric pop ballads set the tone for the night and Nina wearing a silver sequinned jacket with leather hot pants and sporting bright pink hair was all smiles for the crowd as she performed a 17 song set list.

A three song encore saw the evening draw to a close, with a cover of Britney Spears ‘Toxic’ before the final song of the night ‘Loyal To Me’.
