Paul McCaffrey – one of the funniest comics working in the UK today – will hit the road again in Spring 2026 with his hilarious, new show What A Time To Be Alive.

The world is falling apart and so is Paul. Life is hard and made much harder by the things that are supposed to make his life easier. Everything is a constant uphill struggle… doing battle with customer service agents, adapting to life as an older dad and having recently turned 50 his body is collapsing at the same time as the NHS.

Paul said: ‘I’m from a different era and preferred it. My childhood now feels like an episode of ‘How We Used To Live’ when the only things getting delivered were the newspapers and milk, not vapes on Uber Eats from a shop half a mile from your house! At 50, I’ve accepted that I’m never going to be a rock star like my heroes, but I was invited to perform standup before one of my favourite bands, and you can hear how that golden opportunity played out. So come along! Going out feels like a hassle, I get it. I’d rather be at home (alone) with my feet up as well but if you drag yourself off the sofa, I promise to give you a night full of big laughs.’

Paul has starred in: Live At The Apollo, BBC Three’s Impractical Jokers and Russell Howard’s Good News.

In addition to being handpicked to tour the country in support of two of the great stand ups of recent years Sean Lock and Kevin Bridges. Paul is an award-winning comedian in his own right and headlines at the biggest comedy clubs in the country. He has performed numerous critically acclaimed Edinburgh shows as well as major music festivals: Reading, Leeds, V Festival, Bestival and Latitude.
Paul is the co-host of the hit podcasts ‘What’s Upset You Now?’ with fellow comedian Seann Walsh and ‘Gladrags’ with Rachel Fairburn.
