In collaboration with Tower Hamlets Council, London’s essential festival All Points East is proud to announce its annual IN THE NEIGHBOURHOOD programme – Four exciting days of community events, featuring sport activities, live music, family theatre, food and drink. Free to access, the site is open between the weekend music festival days.
For this year’s edition, kids can take part in football sessions with West Ham FC Foundation, Cricket hosted by Lord’s, as well as flexing their skills at Limehouse Boxing, THHC Hockey, and Girls Allowed Multi-Sports, promoting physical health and mental wellbeing.
Enjoy live theatre shows from Half Moon Presents, the UK’s leading small-scale young people’s venue and touring company, another great local success story. Based in Whitechapel, they give young people from birth to 18 (25 for young people with disabilities) an opportunity to experience the best in young people’s theatre, both as a participant and as an audience member.
Flex your art skills and get stuck into The Big Draw. Founded in 2000 by the Guild of St George, The Big Draw is a visual literacy charity dedicated to spotlighting drawing as a means for looking after mental health, creativity, and social and cultural engagement.
Experience Shakespeare as never before! East London Shakespeare presents ‘As You Like It’. This joyful, family-friendly outdoor production blends contemporary London culture with vibrant characters, music, cabaret, and revelry — all set in a lively Forest of Arden festival! Expect high-energy numbers, slapstick comedy and audience participation!
Enjoy live music performances from DJ Yoda’s 50 years of Hip-Hop live AV show, Soulful Music with jaw-dropping B-Boy Action and riotous comedy from The Cuban Brothers, plus ‘Daft Funk Live’- one of the world’s most prestigious Daft Punk tribute bands – diligently constructing a ‘live’ rendition of Daft Punk’s legendary performances. Grand Union Orchestra, Udichi School of Performing Arts also feature, plus Cafe 1001 featuring The Cockney Sikh & Knights Club stage takeover.
Free fitness sessions include Open Mat Yoga. Bring your mat, your curiosity, and be ready for a full-body yoga session. Tower Hamlets-based Be Well, Stronger and Move Studio London are also offering free fitness sessions, alongside Strong Mums Club and Animo London.
Hackney Baby Sensory sessions are bursting with bubbles, lights, music, and magical moments. Plus Adventure Babies are hosting sessions for toddlers – journey through themed sensory trays, cuddle up for an interactive story time and boogie under the fantastical parachute!
Daily free cinema screenings include Inside Out 2, Mufasa: The Lion King, Captain America: Brave New World and come and join in with the Wicked Singalong movie! Bikeworks are also onsite each day offering free bicycle repairs.
All Points East headliners are Cleo Sol (Friday 15 August), Chase and Status (Saturday 16 August), Barry Can’t Swim (Friday 22 August), RAYE (Saturday 23 August), and The Maccabees (Sunday 24 August).
