Yorkshire-based events promoters Futuresound, in collaboration with Leeds Comedy Festival, have announced the return of The Kirkstall Abbey Comedy Festival which will take place within the grounds of the iconic Leeds landmark on Sunday 26th of July, 2026. The largest outdoor comedy festival in the UK, The Kirkstall Abbey Comedy Festival will bring an array of the county’s very best and brightest comics to a truly unique Yorkshire venue.

Following on from 2024’s sell-out inaugural event, next year’s festival boasts a lineup that includes comedian, presenter, actor and household name Jason Manford (8 Out of 10 Cats, Live At The Apollo, QI, Have I Got News For You); one of ‘Britain’s favourite Irishmen’, the award-winning comedian, broadcaster and writer Dara Ó Briain (8 Out of 10 Cats, Live At The Apollo and Mock The Week which he hosted for 21 series) and stand up, screenwriter, broadcaster and esteemed Taskmaster alumni, Lucy Beaumont (8 Out of 10 Cats, Would I Lie To You?, Have I Got News For You, The Last Leg).

Joining them are the likes of hilarious comic Sara Pascoe (Mock The Week, QI, Would I Lie To You?), TV comedy royalty Alan Davies (Jonathan Creek, QI, Taskmaster); comedian, writer and political commentator Geoff Norcott (The Mash Report, Mock The Week, Frankie Boyle’s New World Order) and energetic actor, writer and Edinburgh Fringe Best Newcomer nom’d observational comedian Hal Cruttenden (Have I Got News For You, Would I Lie To You?, Live At The Apollo) all in the capable hands of host, the New Zealand-born, Chortle Comedy Best Compère Award-winning Jarred Christmas.

The Kirkstall Abbey Comedy Festival is part of the the return of Live At Kirkstall Abbey, a series of incredible performances at the Leeds landmark next July including hometown indie heroes The Sunshine Underground, who are reuniting to celebrate 20 years of their 2006 classic Raise The Alarm and a very special appearance from British hip hop multi-hyphenates The Streets who will be performing their seminal second album A Grand Don’t Come For Free in full within the grounds of the 12th Century Kirkstall Abbey.

With general admission, and Premium Seated tickets available, which include priority access and access to ‘Bob’s Monkhouse’, a premium hang out area in the Abbey’s cloister, Kirkstall Abbey Comedy Festival will be running a special postcode pre-sale event in order to allow local residents to secure their spot at the festival before tickets go on general sale 48 hours later.
