Looking for something to do this weekend, then look no further, Scoop Fest is back – bigger, bolder, and friendlier than ever! Celebrating its 5th anniversary, the three-day extravaganza returns to its new and improved home at Lanchester Showgrounds (Esp Green Farm), with expanded campervan and caravan facilities, fairground rides, a buzzing dance tent, and an incredible line-up of live music.
Designed with families, music lovers, and festival-goers in mind, Scoop Fest promises its most spectacular year yet, blending chart-topping tribute acts, immersive entertainment zones, and a relaxed, community-driven atmosphere that guarantees unforgettable summer memories for all ages.
“Hitting five years is a milestone we never expected but here we are, stronger and more connected than ever,” says festival founder Tris Raine. “This year, we’ve gone all out: new site layouts, upgraded camping, and a line-up that spans genres and ages—because we want every family, friend group, or solo camper to feel at home.”
The Music: A Line-Up to Remember
The festival kicks off on Thursday with a mellow “soft opening” before ramping up over the weekend with some of the North East’s finest tribute acts and original performers. Headlining this milestone edition are the powerhouse Foo Fighters tribute act The FooFifers, known for their electrifying live sets and note-perfect anthems. They’ll be joined by Bon Giovi, the UK’s premier Bon Jovi tribute band, delivering singalong classics for all generations.
Other highlights include Fleetwood Mad, recreating the magic of Fleetwood Mac; The Kopycat Killers, bringing The Killers’ biggest hits to life; and the high-energy Oasis tribute band Definitely Mightbe, ready to belt out era-defining Britpop favourites. For dance fans, the late-night Scoop Dance Tent will feature top local DJs spinning everything from house and disco to club anthems until the early hours.
Four stages across the site ensure the music never stops—from chilled-out acoustic afternoons and family singalongs to full-throttle nighttime party vibes.
What Makes Scoop Fest Unique?
Scoop Fest isn’t just another music festival—it’s a community celebration with heart. What sets it apart is its commitment to affordability and inclusivity. Ticket prices have been deliberately kept low to ensure that everyone can enjoy the magic of live music without breaking the bank. Add to that a family-first approach with dedicated children’s areas, gentle daytime entertainment, and a relaxed, friendly atmosphere—and you have a festival designed for everyone.
“What makes Scoop truly special is its heart,” adds Tris. “We’re not chasing big corporate sponsors, we’re powering on goodwill, grassroots music, and shared moments under the summer sky. Celebrating five years together, that’s what makes this more than just a festival, it’s family.”
Bigger and Better for 2025
To mark its fifth year, Scoop Fest has introduced significant upgrades, including a larger dedicated campervan and caravan area, fairground rides for all ages, street-food stalls offering everything from global flavours to local favourites, fully serviced camping with clean showers, toilets and hot-water stations, and improved accessibility with better parking and a smoother site layout.
Scoop Fest combines a community-first ethos by keeping prices low to make live music accessible for all, is locally rooted with national appeal through a strong focus on showcasing the best of the North East’s talent, and offers an inclusive vibe that’s perfect for families, groups, and solo adventurers.
