Currently on a headline tour across the UK, rising star Alex Spencer has released his new single ‘Farewell to Forever.’ The track is the first to be taken from his forthcoming EP, which is due later this year. Listen to ‘Farewell To Forever HERE.
An exploration of self-sabotage and the difficult emotions that arise when letting go of the things and people you love, ‘Farewell to Forever’ showcases a more vulnerable and raw side to Alex with a hopeful take on new beginnings. “The track tells the story of walking away in order to move on with the next phase of your life,” Alex says.” I wrote it just before getting ready to head out on my debut headline tour. It was a crazy time, and I was going through all the things 18-year-olds do, growing up and experiencing new emotions.”
Fast becoming one of the UK’s most exciting young voices in indie music and with a run of dates with Corella across the UK, as well as a support slot opening for The Black Keys at Alexandra Palace Park last year under his belt, Alex is set for another busy year on the road. Already well into his run of February headline shows, Alex plays his biggest ever headline show in his hometown of Manchester at Academy 2 on Saturday 21st and finishes his tour at The Lower Third in London Tuesday 24th. Alex Spencer’s street-savvy lyricism is undeniable with his song writing capability proving far beyond his 18 years of age. While his roots are embedded in the culture of his hometown, a large portion of his childhood was spent living in India and Thailand, which has had a profound impact on his creativity and ambitious perspective. At the age of ten, Alex picked up the guitar, inspired by his father’s playing, and hasn’t let go of it since. Self-taught and masterfully skilled, he has spent years perfecting his craft.
