ALYA’s elegant pop vocal and love of timeless melodies is powering her rise, with highlights so far including winning a Grammy for her work on Dead Suns’ ‘Mystic Mirror’ album; collaborations with global artists such as D Smoke, Erica Campbell and Indiara Sfair; and attracting over 50 million views at socials. Now ALYA embraces the festive spirit as she shares two Christmas singles: the classic ‘Silent Night’ featuring the legendary Eric Clapton, and the brand new ‘No More Lonely Christmas’. Listen Here.
‘Silent Night’ encapsulates a timeless Christmas atmosphere, led by the delicate beauty of ALYA’s vocal class. Her voice then intertwines with Eric Clapton’s world-renowned tone, their duet exuding the heartening warmth of a roaring midwinter fireplace.
ALYA says, “My life’s dream has been fulfilled to first record one of my favourite Christmas songs, and then to do it with such a wonderful legend as Eric. This is the ultimate Christmas gift to share with the world!”
Eric Clapton adds, “ALYA has a really sweet voice. It was a pleasure to duet with her on such a Christmas classic”
ALYA then steps into uplifting holiday joy with the new song ‘No More Lonely Christmas’. It’s a song that is destined to take its place on Christmas playlists alongside Mariah Carey, Michael Bublé and Wham. And it’s so instantly familiar you’ll feel as if it has famously featured in a seasonal family film favourite. But no: it was written by ALYA and Davy Nathan (Christina Aguilera, Josh Groban), who produced the track with Tim Carmon (Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney).
ALYA continues, “I feel like this is the new Christmas anthem. No matter how bad things could be, even during Christmas, you are loved and surrounded by the presence of love even if you can’t see it.”
Now based in Los Angeles, ALYA was born in the Soviet Union and spent the majority of her childhood in Lviv in Ukraine. For her music is a form of self-expression, of storytelling, and a way to provide a voice for those with no outlet of their own. Songs such as ‘Hope’and ‘Crazy’ are rooted in her core sounds (modernist pop, diva-style balladeering), but her broader catalogue encompasses alt-pop, trap, amapiano and much more.
She is also a noted philanthropist. Her biggest passion is her FirstGen initiative, a storytelling platform that celebrates the stories of America’s immigrant women: famous and unknown, artists and entrepreneurs, innovators and trailblazers. While every immigrant woman’s story is different, they often share common experiences of arrival, integration, and renewal.
