Biffy Clyro have today been nominated for British Group at the BRIT Awards, which will held on May 11th and broadcast live on ITV. The nomination recognises the success of the band’s latest album ‘A Celebrations of Endings’, which became their third consecutive #1 and featured the singles ‘Instant History’, ‘Space’ and ‘Tiny Indoor Fireworks’, all of which hit key playlists at Radio 1, Radio X, Absolute and Virgin. It’s the third time Biffy Clyro have been nominated in the category, after 2011 and 2017.

The band commented, We are over the moon to be receiving our third Brit nomination. It’s an honour to be nominated among so many great artists and bands, especially during such a tough time for everyone. Thank you to everyone who voted for us. We hope to see you all very soon!”

The BRIT nomination follows the news that their huge Glasgow headline show has been rescheduled to Glasgow Green on September 9th. Tickets for the original show remain valid for this rearranged date, while remaining tickets are currently available here. Biffy’s intimate Fingers Crossed tour has also been rescheduled to commence in late October and is entirely sold-out. Meanwhile, the band’s 2022 summer festival schedule is taking shape with the news that they’ll headline the Sunday night at Download.

This week also saw Biffy Clyro’s 2013 album ‘Opposites’ receive Platinum certification from the BPI in recognition of 300,000 domestic sales. The band’s growing list of UK album sales certifications now includes double-Platinum for ‘Only Revolutions’; Platinum for ‘Opposites’; Gold for ‘Ellipsis’, ‘Puzzle’ and ‘Revolutions // Live At Wembley’; and Silver for ‘Blackened Sky’, ‘Infinity Land’ and ‘The Vertigo of Bliss’.

They have also received singles awards for ‘Many Of Horror’ (Platinum), ‘Mountains’ and ‘Bubbles’ (both Gold), ‘Black Chandelier’ and ‘The Captain’ (both Silver).
