Multi-platinum singer-songwriter Calum Scott unites with rap sensation Aitch for a reimagined version of “Unsteady,” a romantic ode to accepting imperfection originally found on Calum’s 2025 album Avenoir. Listen to the new collaboration HERE. Meanwhile, the globe-trotting Avenoir Tour reaches the UK this May – find those dates HERE.
The “Unsteady” team-up infuses the slowly blooming track with extra punch while doubling down on the hopeful message. “I’m a little unsteady, a little messed up, a little bit petty,” Calum admits before he delivers the twist: “But… I’ve found a place to go, and I’m standing all alone with you / ’Cause you’re unsteady, too.” Aitch picks up the theme, delivering a heartfelt dedication: “Even better than expected from the second we connected / Yeah, I might be a little crazy, but you’re the only one that gets it.” The video, directed by Ben Morgan, fittingly films the two artists in a way that exposes the studio’s seams and edges, interspersed with shots of couples from all walks of life sharing cozy, loving moments.
Calum recently shared a video tracing the new song’s serendipitous lineage, and the backstory is just as heart-warming. “Our collaboration came about so organically,” says Calum. “I saw a post of Aitch’s sister, Gracie, singing ‘You Are the Reason’ and sent a thank you video to Aitch to pass on and she was buzzing with it! Aitch and I started chatting and we said we should collab so we got in a studio. I showed him ‘Unsteady’ before it was released and he was like ‘give me an hour’. Aitch is a great guy with an amazing talent who has brought a completely new dynamic to the song whilst keeping the message sincere. More than that, he’s northern, and that’s what makes this collab special!”
The new single arrives after Calum’s lengthy string of dates in Asia, Europe, and South Africa for The Avenoir Tour. On May 27, he launches the UK leg in Manchester, before continuing on to London’s OVO Wembley Arena and Dublin’s Bord Gais Energy Theatre before venturing back into Europe.
