Previously co-signed by Elton John and Lewis Capaldi, CHARLS continues to make strides as an independent artist with an emotionally honest and ambitiously intimate sound. Listen to the track HERE.
Available to listen now on all streaming platforms, ‘Trust My Gut’ is a single for the New Year; a track that embodies trusting your intuition and gut feeling. Co-written with fellow songwriter and friend Violet Skies (Lily Allen), it’s a soulful, empowering anthem, a promise of light at the end of a dark tunnel.
On the single, CHARLS quotes, “How bad is it that we’re conditioned to think that we need to wait for some kind of betrayal in a relationship in order to justify ending it?” She continues, “There were so many warning signs long before I had hard facts that were reason enough to leave. My main hope for the future was that I’d recognise and act on them with more immediacy in subsequent relationships which is what this song is about.”
Initially discovered by GRAMMY Award-nominated producer Toby Gad (Beyoncé, Fergie, Jessie J, John Legend), CHARLS now embraces full creative independence with a renewed sense of authenticity. Her forthcoming debut album tells a step-by-step, real-time story of love lost and self reclaimed, a project that captures empowerment through vulnerability. With previous support from Billboard, CLASH, Wonderland, Line of Best Fit, and more, CHARLS has earned critical praise for her soulful vocals and introspective songwriting.
