The campaign ahead of the September 12th release of Courtney Hadwin’s debut album ‘Little Miss Jagged’ has seen the 21-year-old mobilise an ever-growing and diverse following, with more than a million followers each at TikTok, Instagramand Facebook. Her ability to attract a multi-demographic audience comes from her style: on one hand full of youthful defiance, and on the other feeling like this generation’s answer to some of the all-time soul greats. Factor in an instantly stunning voice and songs which bounce between genres, and it’s clear that she’s something special.
Those qualities are front-and-centre as Courtney Hadwin today shares her brand new single ‘All The Love (Money Can Buy)’ – listen HERE. Described by fans as her best song following recent teasers, it’s a song that possesses the swagger, sass and soaring voice of her heroes Janis Joplin, Aretha Franklin and Tina Turner, backed by gospel-style backing vocals and a jubilant brass section. Yet this spectacular kiss-off also simmers with the spark of attitude and self-confidence that comes with being young and on the cusp of greatness.
Courtney says, “All the love (money can buy) was one of my favourite songs to write cause it’s just a big f*ck you song that you can shout in the car!!” It was one of them songs that just needed to be wrote instead of said!”
An artist who excels in the live arena, Courtney recently showcased those talents by unveiling the ‘Live At The Bookhouse’ session. The set combines unreleased songs with her take on Jessie Murph’s ‘How Could You’. She also captured a full-blooded blues/grunge interpretation of Benson Boone’s ‘Beautiful Things’ during that same performance.
After selling out her first official headline show at London’s Fiddler’s Elbow at the start of the summer, Courtney will be back on the road next month to celebrate the release of her debut album. Tickets for the shows, listed below, are available HERE:
