Daughter Of A Drum unveils ‘Simple Love’, a striking new music film directed by award-winning filmmaker Wolf James, which premiered at the Dublin International Film Festival (DiFF) 2026 on February 28th before going live online today (March 3rd). The film is an official festival selection and forms part of the visual album Pink Breath’ Listen here.

Simple Love is one of three music films from the visual album Pink Breath, Daughter Of A Drum’s ambitious multidisciplinary project commissioned by Project Arts Centre. The album received widespread critical acclaim and radio support, featuring on the RTÉ Recommendations List, BBC Sounds, and earning Hot Press Track of the Week.

The visual album extends the record’s thematic terrain — exploring femininity, reclamation, self-actualisation and home — through a rich alchemy of choreography, music, and cinematic storytelling. The premiere of Simple Love at DiFF marks a significant milestone for the project and signals its continued evolution across artistic platforms.

Daughter Of A Drum is the creative alias of artist Aoife McAtamney, a critically acclaimed, multi-disciplinary artist celebrated for her captivating performances that blend contemporary dance and music. Raised in Celbridge, Co. Kildare, McAtamney has carved out a singular space in Irish contemporary performance through deeply embodied, genre-defying work.

Her debut album Pink Breath was described by The Irish Times as “epic in quality” and garnered widespread press and broadcast support. She performed at Ireland Music Week and was commissioned by Project Arts Centre to create the visual album trilogy for the record.

Aoife is currently Musician in Residence with Music Network and DLR Arts Office, where she is developing Authors, a Tiny Desk–style concert series for libraries, set to premiere on April 28th, 2026.
