Stockton is set for a return of one of its most popular daytime events this weekend as Day Tripper brings its over-30s indie disco back to KU on Saturday 28 March.

After a hugely successful debut year in 2025, the event has quickly become part of a growing trend across the UK – daytime clubbing experiences designed for music fans who want to relive their favourite anthems without sacrificing their entire weekend.

Running from 3pm until 8pm, Day Tripper offers a full afternoon of indie and Britpop classics across three rooms, before giving people the chance to head home, out for food, or into town for the evening.

The event is centred around the music that defined a generation, with one room dedicated to classic tracks up to the end of the 90s, while a second room focuses on noughties favourites and modern indie hits. Together, they create a soundtrack that spans everything from Blur, Oasis and The Smiths through to Arctic Monkeys, The Killers and Sam Fender.

But one of the biggest talking points – and a major reason for the event’s popularity – is the return of KU-raoke, a live band karaoke experience taking place in The Social Room upstairs.

Back by what organisers describe as “massive demand”, the feature invites attendees to step up and front a full live band, choosing from a setlist of more than 200 songs. From indie classics to karaoke favourites, it’s become a highlight of the event and one of the most talked-about moments from previous editions.

The event forms part of a wider movement that’s been gaining traction across the country, with daytime clubbing aimed at over-30s audiences becoming increasingly popular in cities across the UK.

With a mix of nostalgia, live interaction and a social atmosphere that feels both relaxed and energetic, Day Tripper has quickly carved out its place in Stockton’s local events calendar.

Organisers say they are expecting another strong turnout this weekend, following the success of previous editions.
