Legendary Glaswegian quintet Del Amitri, currently finishing work on as-yet-untitled brand new studio album to be released this autumn, have confirmed that they will be heading out to the US this June, for a round of shows, to include two gigs around Scotland’s first two World Cup group games.
The band will head out to the US – their first US shows since 2023 – on June 12th, in time for an opening date in Milwaukee on the 13th, before heading east and playing Minneapolis and Chicago, before alighting in Providence on June 17th and Boston on the 18th, both of these in time for Scotland’s group game against Morocco on June 19th. The short run concludes with shows in New York, Washington and Philadelphia.
The two football-themed shows in Boston and Providence, under the home-from-home banner of The Flying Haggis Supper Club, will feature special guests, surprises and unique giveaways.
Tickets for these shows go on general sale HERE from 10am local time / 3pm GMT on Friday, April 3rd.

The band of course have a unique role in Scotland’s World Cup story, having penned the official team song, ‘Don’t Come Home Too Soon’, for the 1998 France World Cup. That song was written during a rich period in the band’s chart journey, with two founding members Justin Currie and Iain Harvie writing a string of worldwide chart hits including ‘Nothing Ever Happens’, ‘Kiss This Thing Goodbye’, ‘Driving With The Brakes On’, ‘Roll To Me’, ‘Here And Now’ and many more.
Since then, Currie has written a hugely-lauded Sunday Times best-selling memoir called ‘The Tremolo Diaries: Life On The Road And Other Diseases’, a mordant, melancholic, but hugely funny tale of life on the road, after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2022. This has seen him travelling the length and breadth of the UK on speaking tours and book festivals, and carving out a surprise sideline career as an acclaimed author.
The band return to their original metier in the UK this summer, to prepare for the new album release, and will then end 2026 with a full-scale lengthy UK run in November and December, announced last month and rapidly selling-out. Dates and ticket details can be found HERE.
