Ella Eyre releases her brand new single High On The Internet, featuring rapper, songwriter and producer Jay Prince, which is available to stream now via Play It Again Sam here. The single is the fourth to be released from the BRIT Award winning artist who is now making music as an independent artist, and comes ahead of an exciting year of activity, soon to be announced…
A summer jam to soundtrack the art of ‘switching off’, High On The Internet captures the joy of disconnecting from the digital world and reconnecting with the present moment. It’s Ella at her very best as she continues to embrace her new found sense of freedom and artistic fluidity, ahead of a year of exciting activity that will soon be revealed.
Ella says, “High On The Internet is the digital detox anthem I never knew I needed until I wrote it. It’s about being present in the real world and setting myself real boundaries with the internet and satisfying a deep craving for real-life connections in a hyperconnected world. It’s a soulful, wholesome reminder that the very best things in life can’t be witnessed or experienced via a screen.”
With a career spanning over a decade Ella has enjoyed huge success, having signed her first major record deal at just 16. Rising to prominence after featuring on vocals for Rudimental’s double platinum number one single Waiting All Night in 2014 – which later won the BRIT Award for British Single of the Year – Ella went on to win two MOBO Awards, secured two further platinum selling singles and a top 5 album.
Hailing from London, Jay Prince, a close friend of Ella’s, and collaborator on more new songs to come, has earned a reputation as one of the most creative artists of his time earning him collaborations with the likes of Tyler the Creator, Paul Epworth, Mr Hudson, Mura Masa & Jay Electronica just to name a few. Praised for his poetic and down-to-earth introspective lyrics amongst musicality in his production, Jay Prince shows diversity in how he combines different genres.
‘High On The Internet’ follows her last single, 2024’s domino szn, as well as Head In The Ground, which was featured as Radio 1’s Track of the Week and was lauded by The Times as “A reinvention for the newly independent British pop star.” Ella also premiered Ain’t No Love That Blind, live from the BAFTA TV Awards in a performance that encompassed Ella’s bold new era.
