Monaghan’s 24-year-old folk-classical composer, Jamie Duffy releases Against The Atlantic, the second single from his highly anticipated forthcoming debut album Jamie Duffy (Pre-order/save here) out 10 October 2025.

Written in the skies above the wild Atlantic Ocean between Ireland and Iceland with long time collaborator and BAFTA-winning producer Atli Örvarsson, “Against The Atlantic” captures the raw, windswept landscapes that shape Jamie’s sound. A missing puzzle piece to the album’s completion, the melody came to him on one of his final flights to Reyjavík, a gift from both home and adopted home, where inspiration bloomed in barren landscapes. The cinematic soundscape of Against The Atlantic reflects these worlds that inspired so much of the album – dramatic, raw, windswept, with a deep abyss where magic unfolds.

Alongside the album, Jamie has scored his first feature film 500 Miles, (starring Bill Nighy and Maisie Williams) due to be released in 2026. Jamie is also gearing up for a headline tour across Europe and the United Kingdom, including a performance at the National Concert Hall – his second this year following an acclaimed sell out in March. Tickets for the National Concert Hall on Saturday 12th October are on sale now from NCH.ie at THIS LINK.

At just 24, Jamie Duffy has emerged as one of Ireland’s most compelling new artists, blending folk, classical, and contemporary influences into a sound that’s both intimate and cinematic. His debut single Solas became the most streamed debut by an Irish artist since Hozier’s Take Me To Church, with over 128 million streams on Spotify, 26 million YouTube views, and 6.6 billion views on TikTok.

In 2024, he released his debut EP On A Wing, sold out his first Irish headline tour (2,600+ tickets), and supported Andrea Bocelli and Hans Zimmer at BST Hyde Park. Now, with over 1.8 million monthly listeners on Spotify, he’s gearing up for his biggest chapter yet.
