Kate Bush announces Best of The Other Sides is a new compilation set to drop digitally on September 26, 2025, with vinyl and CD formats following on October 31, 2025, through her independent label, Fish People.

This release is a response to fans clamoring for access to The Other Sides, a collection originally included in her 2018 remastered box sets. That earlier set, packed with B-sides, rarities, and tracks that never made it onto her studio albums, is now out of print, making this new curated Best of a treat for fans who missed out.

Three tracks on the compilation have been specially remastered, though specific track details or titles haven’t been revealed yet. Expect a selection of gems from her eclectic catalog of non-album cuts, likely showcasing her signature blend of experimental pop, poetic storytelling, and emotive depth. The timing of this release is particularly interesting, as it coincides with a surge in popularity for Kate’s 1980 track Army Dreamers from her album Never for Ever. The song, a haunting anti-war ballad, is climbing streaming charts and is on track to become her second most-streamed song, trailing only the resurgent Running Up That Hill (A Deal with God), which exploded after its Stranger Things feature in 2022.

The renewed interest in Army Dreamers might reflect its poignant resonance with ongoing global conflicts, its lyrics lamenting the loss of young soldiers and the futility of war. Data from streaming platforms shows Army Dreamers gaining traction on social media, particularly among younger listeners discovering Kate’s catalogue through TikTok and similar platforms. This anti-war sentiment ties into Kate’s recent creative output. Her short animated film Little Shrew, which also explores themes of war and peace, won Best Animation at the New York Animation Festival in 2025.

The film, described as a visually striking and emotionally resonant piece, underscores her continued engagement with socially conscious storytelling, a thread running through much of her work, from Breathing to Army Dreamers. For fans, Best of The Other Sides is a chance to revisit or discover Kate’s lesser-known tracks, which often rival her album cuts in creativity and emotional impact. The vinyl and CD releases, arriving just in time for the holiday season, are likely to be collector’s items, given Kate’s dedicated fanbase and the limited availability of the original The Other Sides.
