Indie/rock band Lovejoy have today released their brand new single, Common Touch. The track opens with an effervescent riff played by guitarist Joe Goldsmith, giving it that signature Lovejoy sound sonically; nostalgic and reminiscent, yet refreshingly contemporary. Listen here.

The new song arrives alongside the music video, which sees the band each play the part of a different character. They are all stars of a variety of TV shows which frontman Will Gold is watching simultaneously, eyes glazed over and is seemingly sewn into his armchair….

Will has explained, “Common Touch is a song about the contrast of apathy and longing, the insincerity of vulnerability and mother Teresa. I used to visit a few cheap casinos, the imagery in this song is trying to evoke those yellow-lit, smoky-walled rooms.”

The four-piece are gearing up to release their highly-anticipated debut album, One Simple Trick, which is out on 3rd October! The band have said of their debut album, “One Simple Trick took four years of overthinking, we are excited to underthink it from now on.”

Lovejoy will headline London’s Islington Academy 2 on 24th September. The band announced this one-off, intimate show to their biggest fans on Reddit recently. This exclusive show will be the first opportunity for Lovejoy’s most dedicated fanbase, to see them perform a mix of both unheard and classic tracks.

Showing no signs of slowing down, Lovejoy will be crossing the pond for their US & Canada headline tour in October. They will kick things off in Boston on 18th October, and make their way around 26 other cities including Toronto, Chicago, LA and Dallas. The tour will wrap up on 26th November in New York.
