Max Cooper has today announced his 3D/AV Live show at Manchester’s Aviva Studios on Friday 26th September.

Max Cooper is an electronic composer, multi-disciplinary artist, music label founder and former scientist who has carved out a unique space in music and visual art. 3D/AV Live is an audio-visual performance system. Comprising projections, semi-transparent layers, and light that work together in unison to create an experience and tell the story of Max Cooper’s latest album, On Being – alongside back catalogue content and reworks.

The new release is Cooper’s 7th studio album and is an exploration of the “desperate experience of being human”. Crafted over two years, gathering thousands of anonymous quotes to use as creative fuel, this is Cooper’s first attempt to use the experiences of his audience as inspiration for his music – rather than attempting to influence his audience’s experiences with his music. “I hadn’t realised the impact that other people’s words would have on me.”

Max holds a PhD in computational biology at the same time as being the first contemporary electronic musician to perform at the ancient Acropolis theatre in Athens and one of the first clutch of musicians to produce in Dolby Atmos.

Cooper has enquired for over 15 years through music, collaborations, and his label Mesh, to explore the intersections between the arts and sciences with installations, performances, immersive experiences, online media, music videos and live events. Anchored throughout is his emotive approach, connecting how ideas and forms feel, in a manner accessible to us all.

As an artist synonymous with the evolution of club culture, Cooper honed his craft as a DJ with a 10-year residency at legendary Midland’s techno event Firefly where he formed a foundational relationship with Architecture Social Club, with whom he still collaborated on extravagant immersive installations. Max tours internationally, presenting audio-visual performances, installations and films and performing at major music and arts festivals around the world.

The new live show will take place at Aviva Studios in September, the venue is a new purpose-built cultural space in the heart of Manchester. The Soundscape installation in The Hall has a flown system comprising five arrays of d&b YSeries, with x2 V-SUB between each. Soundscape is driven by x2 DS100 Engines that are linked to provide the outputs required to feed every speaker individually, creating a truly innovative and immersive experience.

Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday 30th May and will be available from www.gigsandtours.com / www.ticketmaster.co.uk
