Swiss-born, London-based singer-songwriter Miel de Botton has shared the latest installment of Loved Ones Volume 2 with the Pyramid Remix of her powerful anthem “Freedom Song”.
Where the original leans into intimacy and warmth, the remix introduces a richer electronic landscape, elevating the song’s message of liberation into something more euphoric and transportive. The production feels larger and more cinematic, with shimmering textures and vocal treatments that add depth and a dreamlike quality to Miel’s voice.
While the core message of resilience and healing remains unchanged, the remix shifts the mood from quiet introspection to collective celebration. It feels meditative yet energising, inviting listeners to not just reflect on their own freedom, but to feel it physically.
On the remix, Miel says: “With the Pyramid Remix, I wanted to take Freedom Song into a more expansive, uplifting space. The original is very intimate and reflective, but this version feels like a release – like stepping fully into the light after coming through something difficult. It’s about not just finding freedom, but celebrating it with your loved ones.”
The remix arrives as part of the release of Loved Ones, Miel’s multi-volume project celebrating the people who have shaped her life and creative journey. Across the project, collaboration and connection sit at the heart of the music, with songs written about and often with those closest to her. Even though these are deeply personal songs, they are ultimately designed to be enjoyed universally and be a soundtrack to listeners’ own experiences.
A Swiss-born, London-based singer-songwriter, Miel de Botton is known for her genre-fluid approach, blending disco, chanson, Europop and intimate piano-led songwriting. She has previously toured with Simply Red and Wet Wet Wet, and works closely with long-time producer Andy Wright.
