Miles Kane will return to Newcastle with a headline show at NX on Tuesday 3 February, as part of his UK & European tour.
Also on the bill are VILLANELLE, the emerging band fronted by Gene Gallagher, son of Liam Gallagher. Quickly gaining attention across UK music press, the band have been tipped as one to watch thanks to their gritty, guitar-led sound and confident live performances. With growing buzz around new material and high-profile live appearances, VILLANELLE bring a strong next-generation edge to the line-up.
An indie pop veteran by his early twenties, Kane has played a key role in shaping the late-noughties alternative scene, both as a band member and as a solo artist. Born in Merseyside in 1986, Kane first emerged with childhood friends in The Little Flames before reforming as The Rascals, releasing their debut album Rascalize in 2007 and appearing in the cult British film Away Days.
After supporting Arctic Monkeys on tour, Kane struck up a close creative partnership with Alex Turner, leading to the formation of The Last Shadow Puppets. Their debut album The Age of the Understatement reached number one in the UK, produced a Top Ten single and earned a Mercury Music Prize nomination, cementing Kane’s status as one of the most distinctive figures of his generation.
Alongside his collaborative work, Kane’s solo career has continued to go from strength to strength. His debut album Colour of the Trap arrived in 2011 to widespread acclaim, followed by Don’t Forget Who You Are, which broke the UK Top 10. Across multiple albums, Kane has built a reputation for sharp songwriting, cinematic influences and a magnetic live presence.
The 2026 tour follows the release of Kane’s latest album Sunlight In The Shadows, with dates running from January through March. The UK leg launches in Glasgow before taking in major cities including London and Manchester, with the Newcastle date marking a key stop on the run.
Speaking ahead of his return to the North East, Kane said: “Newcastle has always been one of my favourite places to play. The Geordie crowd brings a level of energy and passion that’s hard to beat – it’s loud, it’s honest and it feels special every time. I can’t wait to get to NX and share these new songs with everyone. It’s going to be a cracking night.”
Kane will be joined on tour by rising support acts including Howden-raised singer-songwriter Fiona-Lee, alongside VILLANELLE, fronted by Gene Gallagher.
With a new album, a career-spanning catalogue and one of the most dedicated live fanbases in British indie music, Miles Kane’s Newcastle return promises to be one of the city’s standout shows of early 2026.
