Rising London-based pop-rock artist Nico Cann continues to captivate with his latest single ‘Lose My Mind,’ out now. Produced by longtime collaborator Thomas Mitchener, the track draws loose inspiration from The Catcher in the Rye. It balances nostalgia with modernity—anchored by a Roland Jazz Chorus 120 riff and closing with a soaring guitar solo from close friend Nicholas Richards.

“At its heart, the song reflects on the memory of a childhood love—a time of innocence, instinct, and unfiltered emotion before the weight of adult life set in,” Nico shares. “It’s about longing for a past that never truly existed—a time that never was.”

That spark of influence only cracks the surface. Written in Milan in January 2023, ‘Lose My Mind’ carries coming-of-age themes shaped in part by Henley and Bruce Hornsby’s ‘The End of Innocence,’ one of Nico’s all-time favorite songs. But what rises above is his own voice—gravel trailing off Bruce Springsteen’s scruff, brushed with Jack Antonoff’s late-night melancholy, and carrying Sam Fender’s small-bar ache, where you just know your heart will be scraped raw like the label peeling from your beer. Nico takes those echoes and twists them into something sharper, lived-in, and distinctly his own.

“The song is inspired by the spirit of freedom and inventiveness that defined the 1980s,” Nico adds. “I felt that those values—hope, creativity, and a sense of possibility—are increasingly being lost today, and I wanted to capture and celebrate them through music.”

With an evident passion for music history, Nico recorded his debut single, ‘Runnin’ in the Rain’ at Abbey Road Studios and followed with ‘Light Over the Ridge,’ which earned him a feature in Rolling Stone UK. Since then, he has gained recognition from Billboard Italy, Italian TG1, iHeartRadio Live in the UK, and abroad. He has played numerous shows, including a sold-out headlining gig with his band, The Air Traffic, in his hometown of Milan. With his next London performance set for October 24, Nico is primed to mesmerize even more listeners.

‘Lose My Mind’ is available now on all major streaming platforms.
