The irrepressible Olly Murs releases an intoxicating new single, ‘Bonkers’ taken from his forthcoming new album Knees Up, which comes November 21st on BMG.
“This is the first album in years I’ve made authentically for me – it’s daring, fun, a bit bonkers – and the most buzzing I’ve felt about music in a long time,” Olly says of the record. “My fans have been there through everything over the last 15 years, and I can’t wait for them to hear something fresh & fun from me. Time for a cheeky little Knees Up!!”
The album will be available on transparent green vinyl, standard CD, Deluxe CD, which comes with four additional live tracks (‘Troublemaker,’ ‘Heart Skips A Beat,’ ‘Save Me,’ and ‘Dance With Me Tonight’), and Lanyard CD, available only to fans who pre-ordered the album at Olly’s summer live shows.
New single ‘Bonkers’ is Olly 2.0 and picks up where the glorious ‘Save Me’ ended, tipping its hat to good time Ska Vibes surrounded by a sea of swinging horns. ‘Bonkers’ very much has “the old Olly vibes but a 2.0 version” as the singer fondly admits. It’s upbeat, fun and quite addictive as is the entire 12 track album.
Written by Olly, Ed Drewett, Sky Adams and James New, ‘Bonkers’ is a big slice of happiness. And Olly has every reason to be happy after celebrating the birth of his second child earlier this month. Listen to ‘Bonkers’ HERE.
It’s been quite a year for Olly as his massive sold out UK tour celebrated 15 years of success with the kind of infectious pop that’s become his trademark.
For Knees Up Olly has gone back to those heady days and revisited his roots on his new album, the 8th of a glittering career.
