South East London born and raised rising star Sam Wilkinson has shared his new EP ‘Why I Live in A Bungalow’, released via The Other Songs. On this four track release, Sam showcases his talent through his distinctive folk-driven sound infused with his earnest, emotive lyricism.
Alongside his latest single ‘Hey Mama’, a touching personal track about Sam bearing light on grief, the EP also hosts previously unreleased tracks ‘Why I Live in A Bungalow’, ‘If I Could Fly’, and ‘Erg Chebbi’. Having worked on these personal tracks for some time, Sam is finally ready to share them with the world. This EP perfectly captures Sam’s ability to match sensitive, heartbreaking lyrics with his uplifting, guitar-led instrumentals, drawing in the listener and pulling on their heartstrings.
‘Why I Live in A Bungalow’ is Sam’s second body of work, following his debut EP ‘Everything’s Alright’, a soulful project touching on themes of love, loss and heartbreak.
Recently, Sam movingly performed at The Forge in London as part of his ongoing sold out residency. Following the success of his London shows, and Sam’s ever emotive way of intimately enticing his audience, for his next show, Sam will be moving to a larger venue; The Social, London, allowing Sam to reach a wider audience with his maturely melodic ballads. Later this month, Sam will perform at BST Hyde Park supporting Neil Young and The Chrome Hearts alongside Yusef/Cat Stevens, Van Morrison and more. Previously, Sam has blown away crowds supporting Amble and James Smith on tour and has performed in some of London’s most prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall and Ronnie Scott’s.
The singer songwriter began writing songs at the age of 12 after learning songs by the likes of Cat Stevens, Jack Johnson and The Beatles. Since then, the 19-year-old has focused on mastering his craft, pulling inspiration from his musical heroes including Bob Dylan, Sly Stone and Carole King to curate his signature sound.
Sam Wilkinson is a timeless artist, and with the release of his new EP ‘Why I Live in A Bungalow’ he’s ready to showcase what he does best. Described “brilliant” by Bernie Taupin, Sam is emerging as one of the most exciting new musical acts of 2025.
