Alt-pop and electronic duo SISTRA release their new single, ‘Double Edged Sword’, out now. It is their latest new music since the release of the acclaimed single, ‘Things I Really Mean’, which was released in November of last year. Both new singles have been produced by longtime Charli xcx collaborator Jon Shave.

On ‘Double Edged Sword’, SISTRA pick up from where they left off with their last single, ‘Things I Really Mean’, continuing their sonical shift from what has come before. Their sound incorporates avant-pop, art-pop, and hyper-pop aesthetics, and leans into electronic motifs. The production is sublime, embracing a wide spectrum of genres. With ‘Double Edged Sword’, SISTRA once again demonstrates why they are one of the most exciting artists on the scene today.

Speaking about ‘Double Edged Sword’, SISTRA said: “Double Edged Sword sums up our relationship as sisters. We’re each other’s ride or dies which is such a powerful thing to have in life, but we’re becoming aware of how it might actually inhibit us. The opening line: “For goodness sake – you’ve got the same name, must you speak in the same way?” is something we’ve now started saying to each other irl…”

For such a new artist, SISTRA are already building considerable momentum. They have received huge support from BBC Radio 1, having been played on Jess Iszatt’s BBC Music Introducing show and Mollie King’s ‘Future Pop’ show, and DJ and presenter Jodie Bryant is also a key champion of the duo. SISTRA’s last single, ‘Things I Really Mean’, was included in various Spotify editorial playlists, including ‘New Music Friday’, ‘New Pop’, and ‘Evolver’.

SISTRA were included within The Great Escapes First 50 and will play the festival in Brighton, 13th – 16th May 2026.

SISTRA are a London-based alt-pop duo made up of sisters Sasha and Sylvie Briggs. With an eclectic sound, their music oscillates between influences such as MUNA, Charli xcx, Oklou and Caroline Polacheck. SISTRA have one of the freshest and most invigorating sounds on the scene today, and they are set to be one of the most exciting bands in the UK for years to come. Stay tuned for more new music and news in the coming months.
