SOPHIE. released new single “Mommy Issues” earlier this month. The catchy Retro Electro tune was shared with fans ahead of her “Middle of October” tour. Packed with infectious hooks and an upbeat, synth-driven sound, the track blends heartfelt lyrics with a fun, danceable vibe.
SOPHIE GREY. is taking on the world one song at a time armed with her keytar synth-axe and a propensity for writing, arranging, performing and producing her own modern electro, new wave-inspired music. SOPHIE’s original productions – which blend live instrumentation and sparkling electronic sounds – are informed by a deep-rooted love for soulful pop music, hip hop and 80’s-flavored beats.
A classically-trained pianist and keyboardist who studied piano performance at Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California, SOPHIE was mentored by songwriter and GRAMMY-award-nominated Dr. Patrice Rushen (“Forget Me Nots”). SOPHIE also honed her engineering and production skills growing up between Kansas City and Los Angeles where she worked at the renowned Village Recorder Studios.
