Emmy-nominated film composer, songwriter/producer and musician Isabella Summers, also best known for being the Machine of Florence + The Machine, has composed and produced The Magic Faraway Tree motion picture soundtrack. The film stars Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy, the former of which sings on the lead track, The Family Song.
These 12 tracks transform the cinematic experience into a living, breathing adventure. Summers has created an ecosystem of sounds that captures the magic of The Enchanted Wood, providing a musical emphasis on the emotions experienced in the film. The soundtrack is available to stream/download here.
Directed by Ben Gregor (Black Ops, Brassic), produced by Neal Street and Elysian Film Group and adapted by Simon Farnaby (Paddington 2, Wonka) from Enid Blyton’s best-selling classic children’s book, The Magic Faraway Tree features a stellar cast of characters, both mortal and magical. Gregor also collaborated with Isabella on The Family Song and wrote the lyrics for the track.
The Magic Faraway Tree follows characters Polly (Claire Foy), Tim (Andrew Garfield) and their three children – a modern family forced to relocate to the remote English countryside. As they adapt to their new lives, the children discover a magical tree and its extraordinary and eccentric residents, including treasured characters Moonface (Nonso Anozie), Silky (Nicola Coughlan), Dame Washalot (Jessica Gunning), Saucepan Man (Dustin Demri-Burns) and Dame Snap (Rebecca Ferguson). At the top of the tree, they are transported to spectacular and fantastical lands and through the joys and challenges of their adventures, the family learn to reconnect and value each other for the first time in years.
