Dutch-British singer, songwriter and composer Tessa Rose Jackson continues to foretaste her forthcoming studio album with new single ‘By Morning’, out now. Listen Here

Following the release of the introspective ‘Fear Bangs The Drum’, Jackson once again proves herself a storyteller to watch. This time she delivers a soft, acoustic folk song with a raw message. ‘By Morning’ explores the sensation of defeat and having to let go of your ego while being stuck in an argument with someone you love. That moment when you suddenly realise that you might be wrong and/or unreasonable, but simply too invested to back down…

“I wrote this song at exactly one of those moments during an argument with my partner”, Jackson explains. “Hot and flustered I fled upstairs to let off some steam, reached for a guitar, and ‘By Morning’ rolled out. When I came downstairs again with my tail between my legs, I played him this song. He forgave me.

We all get caught up in this messy business sometimes.. and it’s so often something so trivial that, by morning, you can barely imagine ever having cared so much.”

The accompanying video was spontaneously created during the album recordings in France by photographer and filmmaker Bibian Bingen, starring Jackson – well – Jackson’s hands:

“We were messing about, making shadow puppets on the wall as the song played and Bibian instinctively grabbed her camera. A playful little performance of creatures in the light, as impromptu as the way the song was born.”

Jackson’s third studio album, The Lighthouse, is set to be released in January 2026 – a haunting yet life-affirming reflection on ancestry and belonging. Written during a secluded period in rural France, the forthcoming album sees her stepping out from behind her acclaimed decade-long moniker Someone to embrace her own name once more. Rich with ghostly folklore, spectral folk, and cinematic alt-pop textures, the record explores themes of mortality, memory, and gratitude, ultimately shining a light on life’s most fragile and beautiful details.

“The Lighthouse felt like a beacon,” she reflects. “It’s an album that talks about death, but not in a purely dark sense. For me, it’s also about the celebration of life – embracing fears, identity, and the stories we inherit.”
