The Fratellis have been announced as the latest headliner for Live at Tileyard North, a new series of outdoor concerts taking place in Wakefield next summer, with the indie icons performing in the city on Friday 28th August celebrating twenty years of their iconic debut album ‘Costello Music’ alongside a stacked bill of their 00 indies luminaries

A brashly melodic indie rock outfit from Glasgow, The Fratellis debut album ‘Costello Music’ (2006) mixed flam rock, stripped-down acoustics and Class of 1977 punk delivering two of the decades most iconic sing-along anthems in ‘Chelsea Dagger’ and ‘Whistle For The Choir’. Made up of vocalist and guitarist Jon Fratelli, bassist Barry Fratelli and drummer Mince Fratelli, all sharing a pseudonym in tribute to their punk heroes, the Scottish trio have been one Britain’s most-loved indie bands since they broke through twenty years ago.

Joining the trio in Wakefield this summer is a full line up of indie heroes including seminal Birmingham band The Twang, much-loved indie rock trio The Subways and rising Liverpool quartet The Cheap Thrills.

The Fratellis are the latest announcement for this summer’s Live at Tileyard North with fellow headliners the Vaccines performing their critically acclaimed 2011 debut album What Did You Expect From the Vaccines? in full to celebrate 15 years since its release on Sunday 30th August , Britpop icons Ocean Colour Scene on Saturday 29th August, Punk originators The Stranglers on 21st August and the quintessentially English disco-pop singer-songwriter Sophie Ellis Bextor taking to the stage on Thursday 27th August.
