Scottish indie-rockers The Fratellis have announced the new dates for their sell-out UK tour celebrating the 20-year anniversary of their Brit Award-winning debut album ‘Costello Music’, following its postponement due to lead singer & guitarist Jon Fratellis’ ongoing health issues.
The 17-date tour is now scheduled to start in Manchester on 29th January 2027 and end in London on 13th March 2027, with all original tickets valid for the new dates.
All of the band’s current summer dates will still go ahead as planned.
The Fratellis burst onto the music scene in autumn 2006 with their blistering debut album, Costello Music, which spent 83 weeks on the UK Albums Chart Top 100, peaking at Number 2.
Filled to the brim with catchy riffs and brash vocals, Costello Music featured some of the band’s most enduring tracks, including the cheeky ‘Henrietta’, the slightly softer ‘Whistle For The Choir’ and the truly iconic ‘Chelsea Dagger’.
Two decades on, after a run of festival slots last summer including a performance to a jam-packed audience on the Avalon Stage at Glastonbury, The Fratellis’ enduring line-up of lead singer/guitarist Jon Fratelli, bassist Barry Fratelli and drummer Mince Fratelli will now embark on their extensive UK tour in 2027 as an expanded nine-piece band to celebrate the 20-year anniversary of their much-loved debut album.
Since introducing themselves with Costello Music, The Fratellis have continually reasserted themselves as a staple act in British guitar music, winning over new generations of fans who have bolstered their live presence. The band now has six full-length studio records to their name, with the latest, ‘Drunk Under a Full Moon’, arriving in 2021.
Pairing the stomping singalongs for which The Fratellis first found fame with lush songs steeped in brass and strings, the record was a treasure trove of excess, earning the band a top-three chart position in their home country as well as praise from the likes of Gigwise and Riff Magazine. A deluxe version of the record arrived in 2022, featuring eight unheard tracks.
