They’ve played 1000+ shows across 40 countries, performed in ‘RocknRolla’ and ‘The OC’, and soundtracked a Kate Moss campaign for Rimmel, but there’s plenty more to come in the story of The Subways. Today the trio celebrate everything they have achieved and look ahead to what comes next as they release the new compilation ‘When I’m With You’.

Structured like a setlist, ‘When I’m With You’ hits with maximal ferocity from the outset as the call-and-response garage-rock thrills of early favourite ‘Oh Yeah’ bound into the bouncy big riffs of 2023’s ‘Black Wax’. What follows is a breathless adventure from the band’s biggest, crowdpleasing moments from the pop-punk blast of ‘Taking All The Blame’ into the sun-kissed melodic grunge of ‘Kalifornia’ through to ‘I Want To Hear What You’ve Got To Say’ from their debut album, and the darker-hued alt-rock fire of ‘You Kill My Cool’. It ends – where else? – with the full-throttle loud/quiet/loud dynamics of ‘Rock & Roll Queen’.

‘When I’m With You’ also introduces a second brand new song ‘Passenger’s Side’, which joins the recently released ‘I Need To Feel You Closer’. ‘Passenger’s Side’ is a song that captures both angles of The Subways’ evolution. On one hand, it’s powered by the runaway enthusiasm and guitar-driven melodics that they’ve owned since the very beginning. But lyrically it’s a song that can only come from lived experience, as it addresses the anxieties and uncertainties that come when you realise a relationship has hit the end of the road.

Physical formats of ‘When I’m With You’ are available HERE, including white-and-black marble double-vinyl, transparent red double-vinyl and CD. The band’s official store offers a signed insert with all album bundles.

The Subways celebrate the release of ‘When I’m With You’ by heading out on an intimate record store tour today, with limited album / ticket bundles available HERE. Their full ‘The Subways For Eternity’ tour then follows at the end of the month with extensive runs in the UK and Germany alongside shows in another eight countries.
