The Palace Theatre and Opera House, Manchester are proud to present a diverse range of special events this September.

On the 1st of the month at the Opera House is one of the world’s foremost psychic mediums and New York Times bestseller, John Edward. For over 30 years, John Edward has helped thousands with his uncanny ability to communicate with those who have crossed over to the Other Side.

For music fans there are a number artists paying homage to megastar chart-toppers starting with One Night of Queen (13th September), a spectacular live concert recreating the look, sound, pomp and showmanship of one of the greatest rock bands of all time. The following night at the Palace Theatre, Whitney – Queen of the Night remembers the most highly awarded female artist in history with a stunning celebration of the music and life of one of the greatest singers of our time.

In the middle of September, the Opera House then plays homage to two incredible rock bands. The Rolling Stones Story (16th September) has an awesome production, the finest musicians and the world’s No. 1 Mick Jagger lookalike,Paul Ashworth. T.Rextasy, who feature on Sunday 23rd September, have now been performing around the world for over 20 years, a career that ironically out lives Marc Bolan’s very own T.Rex.  The band is now accepted as the world’s only official live tribute band dedicated to T.Rex.

Over at the Palace Theatre, there’s a stunning live performance from David Crosby & Friends on Saturday 15th September. Crosby’s unparalleled six-decade career has created songs that resonate with more than three generations, not only as a solo artist, but as a founding member of The Byrd’s in the mid-60s, and Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young. The season also features an already-sold-out performance from Biffy Clyro with his MTV Unplugged show on Saturday 22nd. Although their live shows are best known for their electrifying and explosive energy, Biffy Clyro announces a new acoustic album and tour, giving the chance for a wider audience to see the band play a rare, full-length acoustic set in magnificent surroundings.

For dance fans, there’s the return of Spirit of the Dance, which has now won 9 global awards and is celebrating its 20th anniversary. This breath-taking show delivers the powerful rhythms of Irish dance combined with the passionate Latino rhythms of Tango, Flamenco and red-hot Salsa to produce a thrilling, heart-pounding production over two nights (Thursday 20th and Friday 22nd September).

Following a successful tour in 2017 and with a second Manchester date added due to demand, quick-witted Liverpool comedian Paul Smith rounds out the month with his brand new 2018 show Hiya Mate, featuring more hilarious tales from his life. You can see him at the Opera House on Sunday 30th September or Friday 12th October.
