It might be a million miles away from the red carpet events she’s used to in America but YouTube sensation Megan Davies couldn’t be happier to kick off her tour at the Deaf Institute in Manchester.
“We’d learn Captain Beefheart songs together,” says Jack. “And I would slow down Aphex Twins songs to analyse them, then create copies, to learn how to make those kinds of sounds”.
“I pick songs to cover that I shouldn’t be doing. I like to challenge myself because, if you’re not pushing yourself to improve, then there is no point in doing it as you’re never getting better!”
London indie favourites Palace kick off a sold-out tour in Leeds and, while the night ended badly, the gig itself was a triumphant start for the tour.
