“We’re not just in a rock ‘n’ roll, punk box. This time, more of my poetry will come out which focuses on things that matter, a commentary on what’s going on in the world. Bands play it safe because they don’t want to upset people. But your job as an artist is to say what others can’t, to speak the truth”.
Speaking of the track Jack explains, “The idea was to write over string parts rather than the other way round.” He continues. “Melodically strings can give you the courage to go somewhere vocally you might not otherwise go. They give it gravitas.”
The pop/hip-hop fusion ‘Blackout’, released via UMG and Island Records UK, is one of the first collaborations between major artists from India and Nigeria and is the debut release from Ananya’s highly anticipated debut EP ‘Fingerprint’, which is out on the 17th.

The tour will be in support of the release of his debut album, Hypersonic Missiles, out 9th August via Polydor Records.
