Following his total sell-out tour of Psychopath Night, Jon Ronson returns with more UK shows in October.  Throughout this highly entertaining evening, Jon recounts the adventure of a lifetime – the funny, terrifying and utterly compelling events that led to his bestselling book The Psychopath Test.

Is it true that psychopaths rule the world? Or have we gone labelling-crazy?

Psychopath Night includes very special guests Mary Turner Thomson and Eleanor Longden. Neither Mary nor Eleanor appear in Jon’s book, but it wouldn’t exist without them. We’re being oblique because we don’t want to spoil the extraordinary twists and turns in their stories. If you don’t know who they are, don’t Google them. The less you know the better.

In The Butterfly Effect, Jon takes a look at – and tells the tale of – free, easily-accessible porn on the internet. At first glance you’d be forgiven for thinking that this may be an exposé on a seedy industry and the trouble it causes, but in reality it is a very human story – beginning with a teenage dream of using the web to share porn with the masses (the flap of the butterfly’s wing, if you will) and taking us through a chain reaction of events that affect numerous people in a variety of ways.

Jon Ronson says: “The Butterfly Effect is sort of about p*rn, but it’s about a lot of other things. It’s sad, funny, moving and totally unlike some other nonfiction stories about p*rn – because it isn’t judgmental or salacious. It’s human and sweet and strange and lovely. It’s a mystery story, an adventure. It’s also, I think, a new way of telling a story.”

Jon Ronson is an award-winning writer and journalist. He is the author of many bestselling books, including The Men Who Stare at Goats, So You’ve Been Publicly Shamed, Lost at Sea, The Psychopath Test, and Them: Adventures with Extremists. His screenplays include Frank (starring Michael Fassbender) and the recent Okja (directed by Bong Joon-Ho). He lives in London and New York City.
