Vaughan was able to give TotalNtertainment some time for a quick interview before his show at #360RAW3 on 25/05/18

1. So, who is Vaughan?

Vaughan is my artist name as a singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist [guitar, piano] writing songs about life and its bruised realities.

2. Describe your sound in less than ten words

Alt-pop and electronic sounds surrounded with honest, emotive songwriting.

3. How did you get involved in the #360RAW night?

I became involved with the #360RAW night having been asked to be involved with shows at the 360 Club previously, but also having been played on Alan Raw’s BBC Introducing show. I’m pleased to have been chosen to be involved!

4. What can we expect from your set?

You can expect an emotionally contrasting performance with soundscape productions complimented by my live supporting band.

5. What are your thoughts on the music scene in Yorkshire?

The music scene in Yorkshire is so alive and developing into something increasingly exciting by the day, I think. There are a number of great venues, showcasing so many different genres.

6. What has been your most memorable local gig to date?

I think my most memorable local show to date would have to be my first gig I played in Leeds with my band at Hirst’s Yard.

7. Are there any other upcoming Yorkshire acts that you think we should be checking out?

Peakes, Tamzene, Sunflower Thieves, Silver Wilson, Mehalah Ray, Sfven, Mother Lover, Lauren Rycroft.

8. Where can people check out your music and do you have any other gigs coming up?

I’m in the final processes of finishing the debut EP before it’s sent off for mixing and mastering, and new music will be released later this year which I’m super excited for. I’ll also be playing YouBloom Festival in Dublin at the end of May; and then keep an eye out for dates ahead of the releases.

9. Curveball question: if you could be any historical character who would you pick and why?

Freddie Mercury – who wouldn’t want that much sass?

10. What are your plans for the rest of 2018?

Finishing up my debut releases. I’m busy planning my moves towards the release but already writing and recording and planning for the future. There are lots of exciting things planned and I can’t wait to showcase what I’ve been working on.
