After an incredibly successful year in 2021, Luno presents All Points East are delighted to announce BBC Radio 6 Music will be returning to the festival as official broadcast partners this year. The award-winning station will be the official broadcast partner for East London’s essential music festival, which comes to Victoria Park in August for two huge weekends, Friday 19 August – Sunday 28 August.

As part of the special collaboration between the station and All Points East, BBC Radio 6 Music will again be hosting The 6 Music Stage, curated by the station’s presenters. Gilles Peterson will choose the line-up on Friday 19th August, Mary Anne Hobbs on Saturday 20th , Tom Ravenscroft on Thursday 25th, AFRODEUTSCHE on Friday 26th, Jamz Supernova on Saturday 27th and Don Letts on Sunday 28th August. All presenters will also perform DJ sets themselves on the 6 Music Stage, on the dates they are curating the line-up.   

Acts performing on the 6 Music Stage across the two festival weekends include Benji B, Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy, LUXE, Nabihah Iqbal, Nia Archives, Norman Jay, Planningtorock, SHERELLE, Shy One, Tash LC & Mina and more. 

As All Points East’s broadcast partner, the network will also play out performance highlights from the 6 Music Stage on air. Gilles Peterson’s show will come live from All Points East on Saturday 20th August (3pm-6pm), featuring a set from Gilles himself. Then on Friday 26th August, AFRODEUTSCHE and Tom Ravenscroft will present a special show from the festival (7pm-10pm), featuring sets from their curated line-ups. On Saturday 27th August, Jamz Supernova on 6 (1pm-3pm) will be live from Victoria Park. In addition, Mary Anne Hobbs, Tom Ravenscroft and Don Letts will revisit some of the best moments from the line-ups they curated in their usual 6 Music shows between Monday 22nd August and Sunday 4th September. All shows will be available to listen to on BBC Sounds after broadcast.

Earlier today, The Smile were announced to join Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds at Luno presents All Points East on Sunday 28th August as very special guests. The project of Radiohead members Thom York and Johnny Greenwood, completed by Sons of Kemet drummer Tom Skinner, the band’s debut album A Light For Attracting Attention was released digitally on 13 May. The band are currently on their 2022 European tour, and have just played one of two sold out nights at London’s Roundhouse. Luno presents All Points East is the band’s only UK festival announced to date.

Disclosure announced more names for their huge headline show on Saturday 27th August, including pop sensation Charli XCX, infectious producer Mura Masa, plus Franky Wah (live), Dijon, Wesley Joseph, Lola Young and Joy Anonymous. They join previously announced guests James Blake, Fred Again.., Koffee, Freddie Gibbs, Channel Tres and many more.

Remaining in August but reverting to its double weekends format, All Points East 2022 takes place on Friday August 19th and Saturday August 20th and then the whole August bank holiday weekend from Thursday August 25th to Sunday August 28th. Once again, the festival is the place to experience the greatest nights of music from the world’s best live acts and discover your new favourite bands.

Luno presents All Points East 2022 headliners are: Gorillaz (Friday 19th August), APE Presents: Field Day, The Chemical Brothers and Kraftwerk (Saturday 20th August), Tame Impala (Thursday 25th August), The National (Friday 26th August), Disclosure (Saturday 27th August), Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds (Sunday 28th August).
