Boardmasters, Cornwall’s own surf and music festival, boasting one of the UK’s most picture-perfect locations, is back next year from 9-13 August 2023. Today, Boardmasters reveals the first wave of artists for 2023, including two huge headliners. Liam Gallagher and Florence + The Machine head up the bill for next summer, and are joined by over 30 more incredible artists announced today. Boardmasters 2022 saw a monumental sell-out, and now, demand is at an all-time high with a record tens of thousands of fans signing up for the festival’s pre-sale. The biggest names in music, the most exciting surf talent, and not one, but two, spectacular festival settings of Watergate Bay and Fistral Beach, Cornwall – Boardmasters 2023 is not to be missed.

C’mon You Know, it’s Manchester’s finest and one of Brit-pop’s most famed and notorious singers. Liam Gallagher is heading to Cornwall next summer as Saturday’s 2023 headliner. In a UK festival exclusive, Boardmasters is officially the only festival in the country to catch LG next summer. For what’s set to be an electric headline performance from the legendary frontman with swagger like no other, it’s set to be a Boardmasters festival debut to remember.

Boardmasters fam, You’ve Got The Love. Sunday will see Florence + The Machine draw an unmissable close to Boardmasters 2023 off the back of the release of brand new album ‘Dance Fever’. With Florence’s iconic, ethereal vocals and a catalogue of truly timeless singles including Dog Days Are Over, Say My Name and Shake It Out, Florence + The Machine will make Boardmasters fans’ much-awaited headliner dreams become reality.

Also announced today, over 30 more world-class artists including this year’s Mercury Prize winner and Brit rap’s finest Little Simz as well as renowned electronic DJ Four Tet and acclaimed, chart-topping, floor-filling Example. Dylan one of the UK’s hottest pop talents right now will be at Boardmasters 2023, plus massive rap-rock duo Bob Vylan, punk powerhouse who burst onto TikTok – Cassyette, rising punk-rock band Kid Kapichi and shapeshifting electro-pop duo Jockstrap.

Gwenno, famed for her Cornish language album will be at Boardmasters, as she is added to the line-up alongside a plethora of even more unmissable artists including Connie Constance who’s just released her awaited album ‘Miss Power’, New Zealand’s most exciting reggae collective Katchafire, plus vocal powerhouse Gretel Hänlyn, and punk-turned-Americana Newquay-based artist Wunderhorse.

The DJ and electro line-up for Boardmasters is already heating up with the first drop of names revealed today including legendary tech DJ Ben Nicky, and electronic music’s finest Dimension. DJ collective Kings Of The Rollers joins the line-up, along with London D&B DJ Kanine, plus two of the biggest DJs collide as Paul Woolford goes b2b with Danny Howard. We’re not done yet – Make Me Feel Good hitmakers Belters Only will also be heading to Boardmasters, as well as Charlie Tee, Goddard, Jaguar, and Balling hitmaker, Vibe Chemistry.

Beyond the music, festival goers can also sign up for Surf and Adventure packages to make the most of their time soaking up the best of what Cornwall has to offer. Surf packages cater for all abilities, with lessons available from Thursday – Sunday. Boardmasters works with established local surf schools and expert instructors including Fistral Beach Surf School, Escape Surf School, Westcountry Surf School, Blue Surf School & Newquay Activity Centre to provide these lessons and get attendees in the water. Surf packages are priced at £40 pp for 2 hours. Adventure packages are available to book too, including coasteering, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, bodyboarding, superSUP & snorkel SUP tours, perfect for anyone who loves the great outdoors. Leading local activity providers Newquay Activity Centre and Bare Feet Coasteer partner with Boardmasters to put these packages on. Priced from £55 pp, activities range from 2-3 hours total.

Plus, on site, festivalgoers will be spoiled for choice with wellness activities at the Zennor Haven, delicious local produce at the Cornish Market, shopping at The Boulevard slow fashion village, get involved in Beach Cleans with Surfers Against Sewage, tons of tasty street food, the UK’s biggest silent disco, Boutique Camping, Family fun and much more.

The Boardmasters OPEN is ON. Steeped in heritage since 1981, festival-goers can head to  Fistral Beach in Newquay to watch some of the most progressive and exciting names in international pro surfing crowned as the next Boardmasters champions, across five exhilarating days. Competitions include the Boardmasters OPEN men’s and women’s division and the Boardmasters Longboard OPEN men’s and women’s division. Plus festival goers can also witness the new generation of groms showcasing their talent in the Boardmasters Junior OPEN boys and girls division – more info will be dropped early next year.
