There are certain bands that transcend time and continue to hold a special place in the hearts of fans across the decades. Last night (9 June 2026), Take That proved once again why they remain one of Britain’s most enduring and beloved acts.

Their performance at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light was an absolute triumph — a joyful, emotional, and brilliantly executed show that left the audience wanting more. Even the rain stopped for them.

The journey home was particularly challenging (78 miles back down the A19 with four road closures, finally arriving at 01:15am), however, that said, it was worth it, as this is one show you could see several times and still see something new/different every time. The Circus is like a show all on it’s own.

The vocals were rich and powerful throughout, the staging and production is what we have come to expect and was first-class, and the unmistakable chemistry between the three shone brightly from start to finish. The set list was perfectly balanced, seamlessly blending iconic hits that had the entire stadium singing at the top of their voices with newer material that showcased their continued evolution as artists.

The big anthems created huge sing-along moments and pure euphoria, while the more intimate, heartfelt songs provided genuine emotional depth and showcased the band’s songwriting talent at its finest.

What struck me most was the genuine warmth and gratitude the band showed towards their audience. This wasn’t just another gig for them — it felt like a proper celebration and a heartfelt thank you to all the fans who have supported them for over three decades something the three acknowledged during the early moments of the show.

The energy in the Stadium of Light was electric, with thousands of voices united in nostalgia and joy. Despite the difficult journey home, every single mile was worth it. Take That didn’t just put on a concert – they created a memorable, feel-good experience that reminded everyone why live music matters. If you ever have the opportunity to see Take That live, do not hesitate. They continue to deliver shows of the highest quality, filled with nostalgia, emotion, and pure entertainment. It is a night that every single one of their fans will remember for a very long time.
