2017 was a great year for live music. The summer saw some great festivals including Fusion, Leeds, Rewind and many more while the Spring, Autumn and Winter months so a host of great bands coming to the area including Iron Maiden, Metallica, Steps, Kasabian, Liam Gallagher and many more.

2018 looks like it is going to be the same with music fans all over have spending Christmas money on tickets for some of the host of bands and festivals taking place across the country this year. Here at TN we can’t wait to see what the next twelve months has in store so, while we were sat at home having a break, we pulled together a few of the gigs and festivals we’re already looking forward to in the coming months.

Mabel – Leeds Wardrobe – April 18th, 2018

It all went a bit crazy for singer Mabel at the end of last year with her nomination for a BRITs Critics’ Choice Award followed up by confirmation she’ll be supporting pop favourite Harry Styles on his European tour which includes a show in Manchester on April 9. However, the singer heads out on her own headline tour straight after so the chance to see Mabel in a venue the size of this is too much of an opportunity to pass up.

Rewind Festival North – Capesthorne Hall, Cheshire – August 3rd -5th 2018

While no line-up has been confirmed yet, we had an absolute riot at last year’s Rewind Festival in Cheshire which saw some of the biggest names in ’80s pop treating a packed site to all of their favourite pop anthems. As their website says, you’ll never be bored at Rewind, with music, costumes, entertainment and much more giving you a massive three day fix of 80s pop fun that you’d be mad to miss.

Iron Maiden – Manchester Arena – August 6th 2018

Heavy metal icons Iron Maiden don’t need any introduction and after their run of UK arena shows last year, Eddie and the Gang hit the road again for another smattering of arena dates in August this year. So, if you like headbanging, loud heavy metal, gigantic monsters and the sight of Steve Harris brandishing his bass like a machine gun, you’ll make sure you get a ticket for this one.

Foo Fighters – Etihad Stadium, Manchester – June 19th, 2018

Come on, everybody likes Dave Grohl don’t they? Even your mum and dad think “that one out of Nirvana” is a rock god and, yeah, they’d be right. Those lucky enough to see the Foo Fighters at an intimate Somerset gig before their Glastonbury headliner got a real treat and, yeah, we’d be lying if we said we weren’t jealous. Still, if the standing on the turf of the Etihad with thousands of other punters means we get the chance to rock out with one of music’s modern icons, we’re in.

Scott Matthews – Liverpool Philarmonic – May 5th, 2018

It’s not all about rock this year, acoustic singer-songwriter Scott Matthews is hitting the road in May in support of his sixth studio album, The Great Untold. The musician, who recently became a father, thinks fans will really relate to the honest, powerful music and we reckon he might be right. With shows also announced in Leeds and Manchester as part of a full UK tour, this will definitely be one for those of you who fancy something a bit more chilled.
