The campaign ahead of the June 13th release of her new album ‘Pure Good Vibes’ has cast Ada Morghe in a new light. The accomplished soul/jazz maestro has been embracing her discovery of the rich tapestry of Jamaican music culture, leading to a collaboration with Maxi Priest on the title track and then 1Xtra airplay for the follow-up, ‘Passion Play’. Now her adventurous streak continues with the new single ‘Shadow’. Listen HERE.

Moody piano chimes open ‘Shadow’ before Ada’s graceful voice explores the solemn emotions that come with loneliness. But then a rattling drum ‘n’ bass-inspired rhythm breaks out as takes the song in a different direction: one that captures the nocturnal melancholy of being alone while also fuelling ‘Shadow’ with a propulsive, energising pace. It reiterates the feeling that Ada can take her music in any direction that her.

The inspiration that Ada Morghe channels throughout ‘Pure Good Vibes’ was ignited by a trip to Jamaica. What was intended to be a fleeting trip to join her live bassist, Livingstone Brown, during sessions with Maxi Priest unfolded into an entire album project. They stayed in Montego Bay and explored Kingston and Nine Mile Beach, but the people they met, the culture they engaged with, and the island’s laidback spiritual vibe all became infused in the new music she was writing. And when they focused on recordings, they lost themselves in the music – there were multiple occasions when night fell and they realised they hadn’t even left the apartment.

All three recent singles feature on the album, which is available to pre-order HERE.
