Rising Star Alex Spencer has released his latest 4-track EP, These Will Be The Days ahead of his debut performance at Reading & Leeds Festival this summer. Alongside the release Alex has also shared the video for his latest single ‘All of This Will Be Gone’. Listen to the EP HERE & watch the video for ‘All Of This Will Be Gone’ below.
Blending unfiltered lyrics with soaring indie hooks the 4-track EP features the euphoric indie-pop anthem and title-track ‘These Will Be The Days’, alongside the bittersweet ‘Farewell To Forever,’ his most visceral song to date in ‘Masks’ and new single ‘All of This Will Be Gone’. A collection of sharp songwriting well beyond his years, the EP showcases a raw honesty and an authentic sound which continues to grow Alex as one of the brightest young prospects on the indie scene.
The final track on the EP, ‘All of This Will Be Gone,’ explores how to navigate transitional times and the realisation that the moments we overlook today are often the ones we’ll miss the most tomorrow. Intertwined with nostalgia and reminiscence, Alex says the wise yet wistful track is “a reminder that life is fragile and chasing whatever is “next” leads to momentary happiness but existential worries.”
Written at a time where Alex was facing lots of self-doubt, he explains “It’s important to chase what makes you feel free.” Barcelona-born, Alex sings the bridge of the track in his second language Spanish, explaining “it’s part of who I am – growing up between cultures I always wanted to incorporate my Spanish into my music and it added an emotional depth that I couldn’t quite capture any other way, it felt the most honest.”
