Sometimes in life the best things happen just as you’ve given up: this is the inspiring message behind ALYA’s new single ‘Believer’. It’s the first new track of 2026 from the Grammy-winning artist, who has previously collaborated with big names ranging from Eric Claptonto Erica Campbell, D Smoke and White Sun. Listen HERE.
Led by ALYA’s chic, classy vocals, ‘Believer’ casts a spell between two worlds: the authenticity and shimmering energy of the contemporary pop scene, with the edge, infectiousness and melancholy tone that recalls Madonna’s early 2000s era. It does, however, contain a unique element that you won’t hear in any other pop bait of recent eras – an accordion.
It underlines the song’s romantic mystique. Fun fact: The accordion carries special meaning for ALYA. As a young girl, she wanted to learn piano, but her mother encouraged her to play accordion instead. Although she resisted the instrument at the time, she later came to appreciate it and wanted to bring that part of her background into the recording.
The emotions that ALYA shares on the song came quickly and naturally – a direct reflection of how she was feeling at the time. But it certainly didn’t emerge quickly. She wrote the song with Breanna Marin, with production from Tim Carmon (Eric Clapton, Justin Bieber). Yet it sat in the vaults for six years, as ALYA thought it represented a time in her life that had passed.
Her partner was convinced it was worth releasing, especially as being able to speak to other people going through similarly tough times. And eventually ALYA agreed, giving the track a modern refresh ahead of its release.
