The new album from long standing folk troubadour Beans on Toast is set for release on 1st December. His nineteenth studio album, The Great Unravelling, was recorded in January on the banks of the Huon River in Tasmania. The wild beauty of the landscape seeped into the songs, giving the record a dreamy, otherworldly feel and a sound unlike anything else in his ever-growing back catalogue.

The album was played entirely on electric guitar, accompanied by slide guitar and backing vocals from incredible up-and-coming songwriter Nuala. Together, they create a spacious and atmospheric backdrop for a collection of songs that ponder our place in the universe, from distant galaxies to school drop-offs and the everyday moments in between. As ever with Beans on Toast, The Great Unravelling is honest and hopeful, finding wonder in the world around us while trying to make some sense of the strange times we’re living through.

Following his huge November and December tour, which sees him traversing the UK playing local venues in lesser-known touring stop-offs, Beans on Toast will return in February for a very different run of shows. Taking place in beautiful, intimate seated venues across some of the country’s biggest cities, these up-close and personal performances will see Beans play songs from ‘*The Great Unravelling’* alongside a handpicked selection from his expansive back catalogue. These one-of-a-kind shows will offer a unique chance to experience the songs and stories of Beans on Toast in a truly intimate setting. You can all dates and tickets here.
