Rising Antwerp trio Bluai have released new single ‘Make A Living,’ the final advance from their forthcoming sophomore album The Way You Talk Reminds Me Of Home, which arrives October 30th. The band will also return to the UK this October for a run of dates with The Clockworks, including London’s Scala on October 16th. Listen to ‘Make A Living’ HERE.

A look into the contradiction of dealing with self-confidence whilst putting your innermost thoughts out to the world, ‘Make A Living’ was born from doubt in one’s music career following an encounter with someone who knew Cath as a child at a wedding who expressed their surprise that Cath had made a career performing in music. A delicate dance of continually having to convince yourself and the outer world that you belong, ‘Make A Living’ doesn’t try to resolve the feelings of self-doubt, but comes with a spring in its step and a chorus that wastes little time getting lodged in your head: “I’ll make a living / doing my own thing.”

Produced by Isabel Gracefield and recorded at RAK Studios in London, The Way You Talk Remind Me Of Home was tracked live with the full band over just five days. A record about living between past and present, its songs begin in conversations with family, friends, partners and people who reappear after years away, turning small moments into reflections on childhood, love, grief, responsibility and the uncertainty of approaching thirty.

Rather than a traditional coming-of-age record, it is about figuring it out. The songs are rooted in real situations and relationships, exploring the patterns we repeat, the people we worry about, and the things that are difficult to say out loud. Influenced by Feist, Adrianne Lenker and MJ Lenderman, the album moves between intimate stories of family, friendship and relationships and broader feelings of pressure, uncertainty and growing older.

The band will return to the UK for a run of shows with The Clockworks this October. Kicking off at Brudenel Social Club on October 9th, the five date run will also see the trio play a show at London’s Scala on Friday October 16th. More info HERE.
