Hailing from South Wales, songwriter Captain Accident has spent years crafting songs inspired by real life, balancing uplifting moments with life’s more challenging times. Across a catalogue of independently released albums, he has quietly developed a distinctive songwriting voice rooted in melody, honesty and genuine storytelling.

Released on 23 October 2026, Sayonara Paranoia blends reggae, ska, rock and punk influences into a collection of songs exploring resilience, love, heartbreak, anxiety and hope.

For anyone wondering, the name Captain Accident isn’t a carefully crafted stage persona. It’s a nickname earned through a lifetime of spectacular clumsiness—a self-deprecating streak that occasionally finds its way into the music, but never at the expense of sincerity.

That balance is perfectly illustrated by lead single “Slither on the Dashboard”, released in February 2026. Inspired by a completely true story, the upbeat ska track recounts the day a family pet snake escaped into Captain Accident’s car while he was driving it to a new home in the Welsh Valleys. The accompanying music video brings the bizarre story to life with the same energy and charm as the song itself.

Rooted in reggae but stretching confidently into ska, rock and punk territory, Sayonara Paranoia is an album of contrasts. Fast-paced ska sits alongside warmer reggae grooves, while songs of optimism and resilience are balanced by reflections on love, heartbreak and life’s more difficult moments.

Captain Accident’s signature sound is built around soaring twin-guitar harmonies rather than a traditional horn section, creating memorable melodies that have become a defining feature of his music. Rich vocal harmonies add warmth and emotion throughout the record, giving the album a sound that is both distinctive and instantly recognisable.

Like every Captain Accident release, Sayonara Paranoia was written, recorded and produced entirely by Captain Accident, reflecting a deeply personal and independent approach to making music.
