Streatham’s star-in-waiting Cat Burns and multi-award-winning artist Sam Smith reveal a special, stripped-back rendition of ‘go’.

Arriving in time for Pride month, Cat and Sam’s version of ‘go’ flaunts their incredible vocal abilities, along with Sam’s signature songwriting style, giving a fresh perspective to the South London artist’s gold-certified single. “I came across Cat’s music earlier this year and I was immediately moved and refreshed by her honesty, incredible technique and delivery as a vocalist.” says Sam. “I am so thankful to be a very small part of this special song and moment. Cat is a gift to us all.”

When speaking about working with Sam, Cat says, “What an honour and pleasure it was to work with Sam! They were super lovely and added an extra level of special to the song which is clear to hear!”

To celebrate the union of two superb voices, Cat and Sam performed their version of ‘go’ to fans and onlookers at Speakers’ Corner in Hyde Park during the Jubilee Bank Holiday Weekend.

Breaking into the Official Charts for the first time in her career with ‘go’, Cat’s latest single has become a permanent fixture in the Top 5 on the Official Singles Chart for a total of 11 weeks and has received a gold certification. Cat has recently shared her six-track EP emotionally unavailable, which explores the internal complex feelings Gen Z face when going through the ebb and flows of mental health journeys, friendships, commitment, and abandonment issues – topics that are close to the Streatham lyricist’s heart.

Additionally, Cat has been announced as the latest act to become Spotify UK’s RADAR artist.  The global streaming platform’s emerging artist programme, RADAR, was launched in 2020 and represents Spotify’s worldwide commitment to upcoming artists. Cat joins an exciting legion of UK artists, including the likes of Wet Leg, PinkPantheress, Joy Crookes, Griff, and Central Cee.

Conquering the UK live music circuit this year, Cat recently supported Mae Muller and Years & Years on their respective tours before headlining three sold-out dates at London’s Omeara and The Deaf Institute in Manchester last month. Adding to her exciting live schedule, Cat will be supporting Ed Sheeran on his European tour run before headlining the newly-reopened KOKO on 4th October.

Cat and Sam’s version of ‘go’ is a natural extension of the Streatham singer/songwriter’s gold-selling original, with the buzz surrounding Cat Burns is certain to continue long into the coming months.
